Québec City, September 7, 2001 – The Québec Ombudsman, Ms. Pauline Champoux-Lesage, is pleased to host the 2001 Conference of the Canadian Ombudsman Association from September 9–12 at the Loews Le Concorde Hotel.
With the theme "The Ombudsman: Coping with Changes on all Fronts," the conference will offer more than a dozen workshops and seminars to ombudsmen and their staff. Renowned guest speakers, such as Gretta Chambers, both Chancellor and governor emeritus of McGill University, Laurent Laplante, reputed journalist and author, Denis Desautels, former Auditor General, Daniel Mockle, law professor at Université du Québec à Montréal, as well as journalists Jean-François Lépine of Société Radio-Canada and Andrew McIntosh of the National Post, will share their knowledge and their experience with some one hundred participants expected to attend this conference.
The annual conference of the Canadian Ombudsman Association provides ombudsmen, often isolated by the nature of their function, with a privileged occasion to exchange with their colleagues from other provinces and territories, and an opportunity to enhance work techniques and instruments at workshops and seminars.
