The Québec Ombudsperson is appointed by the National Assembly on a motion by the Premier. He or she is assisted by two Deputy Ombudspersons who are nominated by the government, on the Ombudsperson’s recommendation. The term of office of an Ombudsperson and of a Deputy is five years.
