A warm welcome from the Office of the Ombudsman. We are here to help you. Our mandate is to ensure that government ministries and agencies as well as health and social services institutions provide you with adequate services and respect your rights.
If we become aware of an act or omission that causes you harm, we will take steps to seek a remedy where possible. We will also take action to prevent harm to other citizens in similar circumstances.
One of my delegates will take charge of your case. He or she will act in strict confidentiality and in keeping with the values of the Office of the Ombudsman, namely, justice, respect, empathy, fairness, impartiality, and transparency.
If your request does not fall within our jurisdiction, the Reception and Admissibility Branch will direct you to a resource that better meets your needs.
You will probably have to provide us with personal information and describe situations and events that cause you distress. Rest assured that the delegate who has been assigned to you is experienced and understanding, and will treat your request with respect and confidentiality.
